RedCap (Reduced Capability) technology has been positioned as a fourth primary 5G use case, targeting existing and emerging IoT applications that require higher performance than the cellular LPWAN options but not as much as full blown NR (New Radio) 5G. This enables it to be more energy efficient and lower cost than full 5G as required for many of these IoT applications.
