Sckipio Technologies, a pioneer in G.fast technology for souped-up copper networks, is working with millimeter wave wireless from Siklu, to bring gigabit-class broadband to tenants at a US housing authority. The company defined the odds to get the first chip out supporting the G.fast standard, which – like high frequency wireless links – is seen as an alternative to fiber for fronthaul and small cell backhaul, as well as for high speed access. Then it was similarly early to market with a 212 MHz version, with units that could multiplex two twisted pair signals, with one over coax cable.
