Wireless Watch’s sister service, Rethink IoT (RIoT), has said multiple times that it was close to classifying low power WAN provider Sigfox as an asset tracking technology, given the focus that the company has put on that application. Now, Semtech – the prime mover behind rival LPWAN platform LoRa – has taken a similar step, launching LoRa Edge as a combined hardware and cloud services offering, targeted squarely at asset tracking.
