SoftBank Group has acquired Graphcore, a startup that has created a number of AI-focused chips but which has struggled to monetize its efforts. It appears to be a bargain, and at a time when AI and processor hype has never been higher, SoftBank is going to push Graphcore into the Arm ecosystem – big.LITTLE time.
