Back in 2022, in line with MWC, Vodafone unveiled its Economy of Things platform, billing it as a next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) play. Now, Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo Corporation has partnered with Vodafone, with the pair forming a standalone business, to promote the platform. However, Vodafone appears to be transferring its platform entirely, which is not a ringing endorsement. Had the value of the platform been immediately apparent, it should have snapped up major customers with ease.
