Liberty Global is undergoing a major change in its European operations, and its latest tie-up may be in Switzerland. The company is looking to sell its cable operations in Germany, Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic to Vodafone for €18.4bn; and already has a joint venture with the UK-based giant in The Netherlands. That venture may be the model for a deal with Switzerland’s Sunrise Communications, said analysts, after Liberty’s CEO, Mike Fries, identified the company as a possible partner.
