Tele2 Sweden has sold off its minor 220,000 home cable service in Sweden to Telenor, almost doubling in size its cable holdings. Back in 2011 Telenor wanted to sell off a similar number of cable subscribers, complete with its infrastructure, to Com Hem, but was refused by the Swedish financial regulator. Telenor continued to hold major cable operations in Norway, despite having said it would push all pay TV to satellite going forwards. Today those Swedish homes have grown to 289,000 pay TV cable customers and 534,000 broadband lines, and it has gone back into growth mode by buying out the Tele2 operations there, which includes a certain amount of fiber broadband as well.
