There are going to be 4K Blu-ray disks after all, but you are going to have to buy a brand new Blu-ray player to watch them. Panasonic showed at CES a prototype of its upcoming 4K Blu-ray player. The device supports 60 fps frame rate, HEVC encoding, 10-bit color depth, and high dynamic range color technologies. “This marks a major advance in picture quality over current Blu-ray disk players, and paves the way towards allowing consumers to enjoy the crisp, true-to-life quality of amazing 4K Ultra HD content in their own homes,” the company said.
