The debate in the UK over the BBC’s top export, popular car program Top Gear has given birth to a new expression – Straight to Netflix. Popular presenter Jeremy Clarkson, is said to have cut a deal with Netflix after being fired from the program, apochryphally called House of Cars. It is something akin to the old expression “straight to DVD,” which meant that the movie theaters didn’t like the movie well enough, so it did not get space to play in theaters.
