Fixed mobile convergence has risen fast up the agenda for US cable companies, especially the leaders Comcast and Charter Communications, according to mobile and broadband performance testing firm Ookla. The growing importance of convergence for such operators in the US has also been highlighted in a lawsuit just launched by Charter, against its former VP of IT device activation, Prashanth Myla. This was after the latter took a job at Metronet, the fiber provider recently acquired by T-Mobile and investment firm KKR, allegedly in breach of a clause prohibiting ex-employees from working with a direct rival for a year after leaving.
