Finnish upstart Wirepas has announced the fifth iteration of its namesake wireless mesh protocol, which has been plugging away in the utility sector for some years. Now, the company wants to target industrial, logistics, and connected lighting, with the new features, the latter of which will bring it into conflict with the likes of Wi-SUN, Telensa, and increasingly cellular vendors.
