The Cablevision Freewheel WiFi only phone service has not survived the takeover of the company by Altice and the service is being mothballed after around 21 months of operation. This is not because people don’t want WiFi offload, but either they prefer it with an MVNO back up, or those who do want it have drifted off to cheaper alternatives.
