Pai’s FCC happy to take out some Charter terms, but not all

In the US for each political position, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The last Democrat controlled FCC inserted into the merger terms and conditions for allowing Charter to buy Time Warner cable, a requirement to buildout to another 2 million homes, where one million of them had to go to homes where an existing cable operator already offered broadband service. The political point there was to ensure that 2 million homes which only have one or at most two broadband suppliers, are given access to yet another broadband supplier.
