As far as we can see, there is no conflict between Comcast and Charter agreeing to swap cable homes as part of the a tidying up after the Comcast ‘Time Warner Cable merger, and Charter being fully opposed to that same merger. Business must go on, and until someone, probably the Justice Department, says no to this deal, Charter must assume that it will go ahead and position itself accordingly. This deal involves far less market distortion than the cable merger in the Netherlands between Liberty Global’s UPC and Ziggo, but we still think it is enough of a problem for someone to step in.
