Nokia claims to have created an entirely new gaming genre – massively multiplayer online mobile games with the launch of ‘Pocket Kingdom: Own the World,’ for the N-Gage. The game is being published by Sega to run over the Sega massively multiplayer infrastructure which Nokia bought with the assets of Sega.com last August, which meant it got the Sega Network Application Package (SNAP), which enables high-performance networked multi-player games, and which will now form the core part of Nokia’s push into online games. The game is set in a fantasy landscape, and is a beat ’em up and strategy game, aimed at global conquest as the title suggests and the game will be out in the third quarter of 2004.
