As the year draws to a close, European regulators have taken one final stab at making Big Tech execs dread the return to their desks after the holiday season. The European Union (EU) has found that its present privacy law does not allow for Meta’s current business model of selling targeted ads according to user activity within its apps. According to The Wall Street Journal, EU privacy regulators have already ruled that Meta should no longer require its users to provide data regarding their online activity in order to fuel personalized ads.
