US cableco WideOpenWest (WOW) is binning its cable service, instead crowning virtual MVPD (vMVPD) YouTube TV as its dedicated live TV provider. WOW’s residential video customers will be migrated to YouTube TV over the Summer, while new internet customers will be encouraged to subscribe to YouTube TV for live TV. WOW’s video offering was the WOW tv+ IPTV service, which launched in 2020 on an Android-based set top, providing VoD, cloud DVR and a Google Assistant voice remote.
