Web3 waves were noticeably subdued at IBC 2023. One example came from decentralized cloud object storage vendor Storj, which is usually marketed as a company central to the emerging web3 revolution, but was less than vocal in web3 communications. With the dust now settling from the crash of cryptocurrencies and in particular non-fungible tokens (NFTs), it is evident we are seeing a repositioning of so-called former web3 technology providers.
