Comcast’s subscription streaming service Peacock is spreading its wings, or rather noisily flapping them in an attempt to truly take-off, as many in the flock of major streaming services have yet to turn a profit—in a year marked as the peak for annual streaming losses. On the streaming side of things, in Comcast’s latest quarterly results, Peacock gained 4 million subscribers to reach 28 million in Q3, a near 80% growth compared to the 16 million total the year prior. Money-wise, Peacock’s revenue increased 64% YoY to reach $830 million, but the streaming service retains EBITDA losses of $565 million this quarter.
