It’s no secret that Nielsen has lost the favor of many networks and publishers throughout its multiple measurement mishaps over the years. 2023 became the year US publishers officially said “enough is enough”, as some gathered into the Joint Industry Committee (JIC) to speed up the shift away from the stammering measurement monolith and towards alternative currencies like iSpot.tv, ComScore, and VideoAmp. Another emerging organization that is no fan of the legacy currency is the Independent Streaming Alliance (ISA), a coalition of 10 niche FAST and AVoD providers not belonging to any of the eight large media conglomerates or OEM and smart TV players.
