At a time when most are abandoning new year’s resolutions, the Media Coding Industry Forum (MC-IF) is just beginning to publish them – with its President, Justin Ridge, claiming on a podcast that the coming year will see the rise of products and services supporting VVC (Versatile Video Coding/H.266). The prediction that VVC support will ramp up through 2024 is not earth-shattering; merely stating the obvious.
