When Faultline saw Apple bribing record labels to implement its Spatial Audio format a few weeks ago, we were almost certain that this marked a quiet endorsement of the Alliance for Open Media’s (AOMedia) new container specification – Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF). However, despite Apple holding a top seat at the AOMedia table, Faultline has uncovered that Spatial Audio does not use IAMF.
