As traditional cable TV and broadcast providers wither away, soft bundling has become a way for some to survive, to the point where video is distinctly an afterthought for former TV trailblazers. At the 2024 Connected TV World Summit, Liberty Global’s presence was in itself something of a surprise. Director of Entertainment Platforms Chris van der Linden’s best argument for the operator’s remaining TV services is “historic” value, highlighting present day objectives of selling bundled services.
