A new forecast hot off the press concludes that a power-shift in video advertising dollars will uproot the media market in the next five years, as ad inventory migrates from traditional pure play AVoD platforms towards the new breed of ad-supported SVoDs and FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) outlets. This sea-change will not be biblical in disruptive potential for traditional AVoDs, yet the changing face of the marketplace will see pure advertising revenues slide from an average of 61% of total revenues at global AVoDs in 2023, to 54% in 2029.
