France-based WiFi software development specialist Airties has landed a big name in the fixed wireless access (FWA) space, announcing T-Mobile as a customer at Anga Com this year. Airties, founded in Turkey, will be deploying its smart WiFi software to T-Mobile 5G Home Internet customers across the US. T-Mobile is the biggest name in the FWA space, counting some 5 million subscribers. The Deutsche Telekom US subsidiary does not run fiber or cable services, and jumped straight into providing fixed broadband access in the home via high-frequency 5G radio waves instead.
