One of the highlights of Anga Com 2024 occurred during a small presentation from media processing and distribution workflow specialist Geißendörfer & Leschinsky’s (G&L), featuring Akamai Chief Architect Will Law. Law was giving an update and introduction on MoQ (Media over Quick UDP Internet Connections), the latest open-source distribution protocol which has been in development at the IETF since 2022. The presentation received a warm reception, and we found a strong enthusiast in G&L co-founder and CEO Alexander Leschinsky, who envisions the technology becoming the dominant protocol for live distribution within the next two to three years, even possibly becoming a single protocol dominating both contribution and distribution.
