In October 2024, France made headlines when Arcom (the French media regulator) and Arcep (France’s regulatory authority for electronic communications), in collaboration with ADEME (a public agency focused on reducing climate change and resource degradation), published an unprecedented study on the environmental impact of audiovisual media consumption in France in 2022, with projections up to 2030.
