App and content security provider DoveRunner has published a research paper claiming that its mobile ecosystem successfully blocked 44.5 million attack attempts in 2025. This sounds like a lot, but there really isn’t enough public vendor-released data in this context to make an apples-to-apples comparison of whether this is a concerning trend, or just a routine day at the office for a security company. One apples-to-oranges comparison comes from Kaspersky, which in 2024 said its mobile threat telemetry recorded roughly 33.3 million attacks blocked across its installed base of mobile security products worldwide.
