Taiwanese set top chip manufacturer ALi Corporation said this week, it has worked with Cubiware to put its CubiTV Hybrid Middleware onto its set top chipsets. Operators usually request this when they want to keep their current set top hardware, but put new features and functions on through the Cubiware middleware, known to be extremely lightweight and adaptable. TiVo acquired Polish firm Cubiware almost exactly a year ago, and we assume that one way to get TiVo on your existing set top box is to port Cubiware onto it.
