We are continually amazed that Arqiva so desperately wants to compete with its existing customers to the extent that it wants to offer its own TV services. The company appears to be in transition, driven by new private equity investors to protect itself against any tail off in broadcast TV, by investing in online services, WiFi hot spots and re-aligning its debt. In 2009 Arqiva bought the Kangaroo VoD project from the BBC and tried to launch it as a service, subsequently renaming it Seesaw and then trying to sell it before closing the service down.
