The final months of 2023 saw the sudden bundling of ad-supported streaming tiers into telco plans, despite content providers’ historic reluctance with being bunched in with rivals. As Faultline has previously claimed, that trend is not going away, with T-Mobile—the US subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom—rejoining the fray (again). T-Mobile is adding Hulu’s ad-supported tier as a fourth streaming service to its collection, giving its Go5G Next customers access to the platform at no extra cost, starting January 24. T-Mobile’s Go5G Next customers now have access to Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu and US baseball league streamer MLB.TV if they subscribe to the mobile carrier’s most expensive plan, which T-Mobile claims saves the plan’s users $35 a month, or $420 a year.…
