The move first initiated back in January by California lawmakers to enforce net neutrality by the back door, has finally triggered howls of protest from all the usual suspects – in this case the major ISPs including AT&T and a lobby group which represents big cable. If an ISP does not adhere to these rules it will not be eligible for any business from any government department in California and that includes the police, health authorities, transportation services, utilities, voting services, broadband in education and smart city apps.
