French pay TV operator Canal+ has expanded its offering, with the launch of TV+, a low-cost aggregation service. Priced at €2 ($2.15) a month, the service aims to compete with Fubo-owned Molotov—where paid plans start at €4.99 ($5.43) monthly. However, a free version of Molotov offers 40 channels and 3,000 hours of content. This comes as Canal+ is fortifying its position on international fronts, as the Vivendi-owned outfit is on the verge of acquiring its beleaguered South African counterpart MultiChoice and has also expanded its stake in Hong-Kong-based streamer Viu.
