Too many cooks can sometimes spoil the broth on webinars, and we felt the DVB’s second installation of a webinar mini-series on targeted advertising bombarded us with too many angles, use cases and arguments without fleshing any of them out enough. It seems the revamped DVB Targeted Advertising specification (DVB-TA) works just fine, and with time it could penetrate much of Europe’s linear market. But the focus was too drawn to obstacles and inactivity, while the watermarking capabilities of DVB-TA that act as a remedy to those ills could have been brought front and center.
