The European Commission quietly released the winners of the Mobile Satellite Services bids this week, with the winners being the two companies which the Commission thought would be most likely to do a good job, and deploy services in time. Naturally the two licenses went to Europe’s best know satellite agencies Inmarsat and a combination of Eutelsat and SES Astra trading under the brand Solaris.
