Media processing and distribution workflow specialist Geißendörfer & Leschinsky (G&L) is continuing to embrace its productization shift with the introduction of a playout manager and a new piece of hardware with its Audio Video Processing Unit at Anga Com, in G&L’s home base of Cologne. As a primer, G&L began as a systems integrator for Akamai, which is still the German company’s biggest client, although it has since then built relationships with other CDNs. After some 25 years of building custom video and audio streaming offerings for broadcasters, the company has recently turned to productizing its services with its playout manager, incorporating some existing offerings into the service.
