Despite the confidence with which ASSIA said in the past that it has the Cloud WiFi management market place mapped, it has ended up this week doing a deal with rival Canadian networks analytics player Incognito to push their two product lines together. Neither were in for comment, but the reasons seem obvious – the Incognito product line is well established, and uses the TR069 standard for issuing commands, like to reboot the home gateway. When we initially chatted with both ASSIA and other players in this space, we were told TR069 did not enable all the “fixes” that Mesh and extended WiFi needs.
