As found when compiling the sustainability report from our research wing Rethink TV, attributing energy consumption is a highly controversial topic that will attract critics regardless of the approach. The report, which found that increased OTT viewing is ramping up energy demand across the industry, was our first high-level attempt at sketching the power consumption of our industry with our vast library of model data.
