Liberty Global said this week it has successfully bought out the remaining 50% that it did not own in Spanish TV channel operation IPS Multicanal. The deal was conducted through its Chellomedia subsidiary and it bought out stock owned by Walt Disney Television International Ventures and some other investors. IPS Multicanal offers 7 themed TV channels in Spain and Portugal reaching 3.5 million subscribers, offering movies, documentaries, music, children’s programming, history, biographies and cooking. Liberty Global says it is the largest broadband cable operator outside the US in terms of subscribers, serving 15.2 million customers and offers full triple play services
