Qatari multinational telco Ooredoo (née Qtel Group) made use of the global soapbox offered by Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 last week to announce its jump into the OTT video ring, propelled by MediaKind. Ooredoo is launching its first ever video streaming platform dubbed Go Play Market, in partnership with MediaKind and supported by Microsoft Azure, running the service on the hyperscaler’s cloud infrastructure. Per the announcement, Ooredoo is using MediaKind’s cloud-native MediaFirst and Aquila live streaming platforms, hosted on Microsoft Azure.
