Swiss content security vendor Nagra was sorely missed during last week’s Faultline anti-piracy webinar. The digital TV arm of the Kudelski group is evidently occupied with extracurricular ambitions, namely those of enabling so-called “super apps”. Nagra’s super app aims stem from a partnership with Norwegian web3 services platform Reltime, previously unknown to Faultline. Through this tie-up, Nagra will deploy Reltime’s web3 SaaS platform and e-wallet technology (which includes identity, payments and ecommerce) to its offerings. The main attraction lies with the integration of Reltime’s services to Nagra’s OpenTV platform, which the latter says creates this alleged über app. We wondered if the “super app” appellation was an extension of the “super aggregator” trend popping up among pay TV operators, and…
