The Live OTT service that Swedish video IP specialist Net Insight launched a few weeks back turns out to be a simple cloud service, which allows live and linear OTT video to arrive at a portable device over the internet, at precisely the same time as a TV broadcast signal arrives at a TV set, whether that is over DVB-T, cable or DTH. All those systems suffer from about an 8 to 12 second delay, but CDN delivered OTT streams, because they are sequential on servers that can often be overloaded, can shift OTT delivery to as much as 2 minutes later.
