Two specifications hot off the press from the DVB show that its heart is in the right place, but they do little to convince us that change is imminent. The European standards body’s Steering Board has approved push in-home redistribution of broadcast feeds to peripheral IP devices, such as smartphones, while the other encourages broadcasters to cash in on targeted advertising with watermarking technology.
