Every news source that covers TV this week have duly reported the decision that Naveen Chopra is to become the interim CEO of TiVo. What few of them have asked is why CEO Tom Rogers has been ousted so unceremoniously, and so rapidly, leaving no time at all to find the right kind of replacement. We have met Chopra and been none to impressed. He is unaware of how the technology works, he is not ebullient and effusive as Rogers can be, and he is fundamentally a line manager, albeit a rather well-paid one.
