Plume, a US-based WiFi software outfit, has been longing differentiation. It turns out that pushing out former CEO Fahri Diner has opened the gates to much-needed change, as Plume has agreed to acquire Sweepr, a company specializing in contextually adaptive technical support. The deal begs the question of why Airties, a WiFi management competitor to Plume and a long-time partner of Sweepr, didn’t seal the deal itself? Based in Dublin, Sweepr equips Plume with what it calls AI-based customer care orchestration, which essentially comprises personalized support journeys to reduce call center costs for operators.
