Hisense has integrated both Advanced HDR by Technicolor and ATSC 3.0 into some of its new ULED TVs. Claiming that this enables a whole ecosystem of content providers to add the HDR that consumers expect to their over-the-air and over-the-top video, this might be a resurrection for Advanced HDR, which looked to have died when LG ditched it back in 2020. Advanced HDR first appeared in 2016, having been developed by Technicolor in partnership with Philips – with LG quickly becoming the first customer.
