Liberty Media’s UnitedGlobalCom (UGC) has completed the purchase of the Noos biggest cable TV operator in France from the Suez. Suez will become a 19.9% shareholder in UGC’s French holding company, renamed UPC Broadband France. The transaction values Noos at €615 million, which is quite a bit lower than the €660 million cap that was originally placed on the deal In April UGC raised €500 million ($603 million) in convertible Notes to help it pay for Noos. UPC Broadband France now has approximately 2.3 million customers (invoice points) and generates around €400 million in cable revenues. In total this is closer to 9.2 million customers across all of Europe.
