Two weeks ago, a group of over 600 local broadcast stations operating under ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox Affiliate Associations formed the “Coalition for Local News”, arguing that it was long time coming for a regulatory updating that would allow local broadcasters, instead of national networks, to negotiate retransmission rights directly with virtual multichannel video programming distributors (vMVPDs) like YouTube TV or FuboTV.
