Now that the WiFi Alliance has launched its long awaited low power version HaLow aimed at the Internet of Things (IoT) both in and outside the home, the spotlight falls on the other lightweight wireless protocols that have been around for a while. This is primarily Bluetooth, Zigbee and Z-Wave, but also one or two others like Thread.
