TalkTalk said this week that it has become a customer for CSG International’s (CSGI’s) Ascendon digital services platform, which suggests that TalkTalk, one of the challenger ISPs in the UK, will be finally launching into OTT video services such as SVoD in the coming months. The announcement talks about Ascendon powering new ways for TalkTalk TV customers to view, browse, rent or buy a wide range of video content, at home or on-the-go. TalkTalk has run an MVNO mobile service on Vodafone’s network since 2010, but currently has no mobile video services available, nor any quad play offers of note, despite having over 4 million of broadband lines and over 1 million fixed line pay TV customers.
